NPA Club Starts on Thursday, September 24, 2026!

Now that our chickens and ducks are getting bigger and the weather is dropping below 100°, we’re ready to host our first Native Plants and Animals after school club meeting next week!

Students and their families are welcome to join us on Thursday, September 24th from 4:00 - 5:00 PM at the picnic tables by the chicken coop.

If you did not opt-in your student to all school clubs while registering them, you’ll need to sign a permission slip allowing them to attend NPA Club specifically (can get from front office or Ms. Tafoya’s room).

During our kickoff meeting, we’ll have students rotate through NPA Club “orientation stations” to familiarize them with the rules and processes to keep our animals, our plants, and ourselves safe around the coop and greenhouse.

We’ll also engage in fun activities like harvesting seeds from our butterfly garden, processing and plant Mexican Buckeye Tree seeds in our air pruning beds, and creating enrichment opportunities for our chickens and ducks.
